Lawn Pest Control

Lawn pests like leatherjackets and chafer grubs can easily ruin your lawn, transmit diseases and cause allergy problems, so it is essential that they are dealt with as soon as they become apparent. With the correct pesticide application, they can be treated and eliminated, restoring your lawn to its former glory.

Using well-established lawn pest control techniques, Lawn Envy can successfully eradicate the following common UK lawn pests:

Worm casts

Casting Worms

Of the 25 species of UK earthworms, only 3 are responsible for worm casts. Worm casts form ideal sites for weed establishment, encourage turf disease, disrupt playing surfaces and attract moles. Casts are most prevalent in spring and autumn.

Leatherjackets are crane flies (Tipula sp.) in their larval stage. They are legless, brown-grey or earth-coloured and 4cm long when fully grown. Turf can be damaged by leatherjackets eating grass roots and stems in the autumn and spring.
Chafer grubs

Chafer Grubs

Chafer grubs are white, fleshy grubs with brown heads and 3 pairs of legs on the front segments. Grubs live for 1-3 years before adult beetles emerge. Patches of dead or dying grass similar to that caused by leatherjackets can be caused by chafer grubs. These common lawn pests can live in most soil types.
